Dan will support art and culture’s role in enhancing the quality of life for all Pennsylvanians, providing world-class educational opportunities and driving economic development in communities across the Commonwealth.
More than 30 million people attend a cultural event in the Commonwealth each year, and Pennsylvania’s nonprofit cultural organizations provide an economic impact of nearly $2 billion annually, generating more than $155 million in state revenue and supporting more than 60,000 jobs. Economic growth will be Dan’s main focus as Governor – and arts and culture will play a key role in creating jobs and strengthening communities.
With experience running the state’s second-largest county, Dan has seen firsthand the power of arts and culture to transform communities. Allegheny County’s turnaround story and success in supporting its arts community has received national attention and accolades for most-livable, among the best places for the newly-graduated, and among the best real estate markets in the country.
